The little Roman's English may be patchy and he had one dodgy half-season at Benetton back in 2000 but there must be another reason why Ferrari, McLaren and Williams are so reluctant to give him a chance.
At least he took his maiden grand prix win at Brazil in 2003 but - typical of Fisi's luck - he was denied his moment of podium glory when the stewards initially awarded victory to Kimi Raikkonen by mistake.

1998 A move to Benetton soon bore fruit, with points coming easily in the first half of the season. Second places in the Monaco and Canadian Grands Prix boosted him to fifth in the rankings, but they were followed by just one sixth place in the second half of the season as he fell to eighth place overall.
1999 Giancarlo's second season with Benetton was a disappointment as the team struggled to find any grip from its chassis and after points aplenty in the early races and another second place in the Canadian Grand Prix, again fell away and Giancarlo fell from fourth overall after Montreal to ninth at season's end.
